RemoteIntegrity consists of two parts. The first is
a PHP script we provide which
you install on your server. This script (1 - numbers refer to diagram)
scans the files
on your web server and (2) sends summary dates, MD5 checksums
and, path of each file scanned back to your computer.
The last scan result (3) is kept on your
computer and
compared by RemoteIntegrity client code
to produce either a summary or detailed report
of differences (4).

Hacker Protection
Don't be a victim of vandals hijacking your web site.
RemoteIntegrity lets you certify your web site files have not been modified,
deleted, or new files added.
Problem: web site defacement
If your site is defaced, a visual check of
your pages will show you if the site is defaced.
Visual checking is tedious and it may take you weeks or months before
you discover the changes.
Problem: web site malware
But visual checking will not protect you from vandals changing
the destination of your links, altering your downloads,
capturing passwords and sending them to vandal, or
infecting your visitors.
You may not find these changes until your ISP threatens
to cancel your web hosting or your site has been blacklisted.

the internet continues every day the malware is running.
